    Forest ranger Schoonloo

    Forest ranger Schoonloo is part of the Heart of Drenthe Nature Reserve. Dogs are allowed off-leash here all year round. A walk around the area takes about 2 hours and dogs are even allowed to swim in the pond near Ellertshaar.

    Drents-Friese Wold

    Dogs are allowed off-leash all year round in the area above Diever, below Appelscha, and west of Hoogersmilde. This is indicated with green signs. The dog must be under control so as not to disturb the wildlife in this area.
